As we get older and set in our ways, we tend to lose flexibility. Not just the flexibility that allows our bodies to move freely, but also the flexibility that allows us to think freely. We tend to dismiss new ideas and new ways to look at the things which may be unfamiliar to us. Today, I would like to augment my thoughts with a quote from Herbert Spencer, who wrote,

“There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance – that principle is contempt prior to investigation.”

If you have ever said something like “that may work for you, but it won’t work for me”, you may be guilty of practicing contempt before investigation. The good news is that releasing the contempt is both easy to do and freedom producing.

Before assuming that a new thought or idea is bad or wrong based on your current life experiences, take a few moments to duly investigate and consider the potential benefits. The only action required is that you stop, think, and dream for a moment about how this idea has worked for others and how, just maybe, it could work for you too.

You might enjoy the new flexibility. Here at LifeSuccess.com we hope to help you stretch your mind as you work to create the life that is your most joyful dream. At a fundamental level, properly set life goals will assure that you appropriately stretch your mind and create all the steps necessary to find your true self. The self that lives up to its fullest potential and changes the world.

We are more likely to change the world if our entire beings are flexible. You may be here to make a difference in the life of one other person, or you may be here to benefit multitudes. Either way, flexibility in your thoughts and actions will compliment the success that you seek.
