There are times when we experience things that are just plain frustrating. This can be an unfulfilled promise, an unsatisfied expectation, or a let down from another person or from a situation. It can also be a variety of other things, things that are personal and relative to our own life journey that others may not understand. While our instant reaction in this situation is to automatically be angry, maybe we should consider taking a step back, and examining the root of our anger and how we will choose to proceed.

Are we angry because things did not go the way we wanted them to, and therefore we do not see how they can be right if it is not how we envisioned? Are we angry because we had an idea of what something was “supposed” to look like, and now that it looks different, we are uncertain of next steps? Is it the fact that we have relinquished control in the situation, and are struggling without having that comfort and tight grip on whatever it may be?

Maybe it is your time to examine what these areas of pressure points are for you along your life journey at this point in time. Maybe it is in the work place, in your home, in your relationships, or even something you are experiencing internally and with yourself.

Maybe your reaction is not necessarily anger, but confusion, toward this unexpected shift or change. Maybe you feel as if the rug has been pulled out from beneath your feet, and you are struggling to get up, and keep moving.

When it feels as if our world is falling apart and nothing is making sense, this is a great time to look for the silver lining. The silver lining is always there, whether it is readily apparent, or takes some digging to discover. It can seem so small, yet make a drastic impact. It can also be so big, that you cannot necessarily wrap your mind around it at first.

Even though it causes confusion and all sorts of emotions, it is worth looking for. That glimmer of hope on the other side can get you through some very tough times, and you are the one who has the power to choose if you see it or not. No one can see it for you, and no one can make you see it. You have to want it for yourself, and to go after it.

So whatever your situation may be, whatever trial you are facing, look up, look around, look inside. It is there waiting to be found, even if it takes a bit of time to find it. Don’t give up the hope that is beginning to form inside you, the desire for better resolutions, better relationships, and better solutions. They can indeed be found, and when you find them, they will be worth the wait and the struggle.
